MAORI EDUCATION CONSULTATION
The framework below or sub-fields are those needed to generate qualifications and standards for training in Te Reo registration on the MMSQA Framework these are fields invited to apply for
Standards Generating Bodies SGB , recognition for Te Reo and Maindustry Education.
OBJECTIVES
That the SGB for education providers to supply quality teachers to deliver whatever learning programs necessary for maori.
To providing high standards for teachers to address maori asperations.
OVERVIEW
It is difficult to learn in an alien learning environment (155 years of colonisation and segregation).
The philosophy is alien to Maori and the acknowledgment is alien, the customs and philosophies are not Maori and therefore the outcomes are alien. The goals are towards material wealth that has no relevance to Maori because Maori believe in a different set of values and tikanga. The MMSQA understand that for Maori to determine their own destiny, goals and autonomy there has to be more action by Maori and understanding by the Minister of education for maori to achieve those goals and outcomes.
